ACCOMMODATIONS

Single Dormitory Rooms can accommodate one individual each and feature:

• One single bed per room with bed linens, pillow and pillow case and two towels, one desk, one chair and one wardrobe

• Access to a shared semi-private or group bathroom. Please note: none of the dormitory rooms have attached washrooms. Guests will need to leave their room and proceed down the hall to access the washroom. Single dormitory rooms with access to shared single-user washrooms are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed. Other single dormitory rooms offer access to shared communal washrooms.

• A common lounge on each floor which offers seating, a TV, a microwave and a sink

• Paid self-service laundry facilities located nearby

• Complimentary limited wireless internet access. Learn more about UVic Guest Wi-Fi limitations and restrictions.

• Housekeeping service provided twice a week for stays between 4 nights and 29 nights in length

Please note that rooms are staged for our academic students, as such there will be alternate bedding provided for summer guests, and added items such as plants and backpacks are not included. Layouts vary by building and room.

Your reservation will only be guaranteed upon full payment at the time of booking. Cancellations may be made without penalty up to 48 hours prior to your scheduled arrival date. All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to visitoraccommodation@uvic.ca. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the arrival date will be subject to a cancellation fee equal to one night’s stay plus GST per booking. 

Check-in time is 3:00 PM; check-out time is 11:00 AM. Late check-outs will be charged one-night fee per room. Keys must be returned to the Residence Services Front Desk and all belongings removed from the room to be considered a complete check-out and to additional night charges. Luggage storage is not available at the UVic Residences Services Front Desk.

Room keys will be made available for each room and will consist of 1 front door key and 1 room key. Keys not returned at the time of check out will be billed to the reservation’s account. Replacement cost for lost keys is $150.00 per set.

Supervision/Chaperone Responsibilities: Groups whose participants are 18 years of age and under are required to have chaperones at a ratio of one chaperone for every 10 youth. The chaperone must reside on the same floor as the participants they are supervising.

Chaperones are adults, age 19 or older, who accompany and stay with a group of youth (persons 18 and under) during their stay. Chaperones are responsible for the behaviour and full supervision of each individual in the group at all times. Each choir is responsible for communicating the identity of their designated chaperone to every member of your group.

• PODIUM 2026 Conference Rate:

  • Single Dormitory Rooms at $74.00 CAD per night + applicable taxes per room.

  • Discounted room rate available from May 13-17, 2026.

  • Accessible rooms are available. Please contact University of Victoria Residence Services for more information.

• Reservations must be made on or before April 11, 2026 to benefit from the PODIUM 2026 conference rate.

• Space is limited, so please book early to avoid disappointment.

  • Reservation requests received once the room block is full will be subject to availability.
